The Director-General of the Authority, Rev. Stephen Wilfred Arthur, led a delegation comprising management members and staff of the GCAA to the service, which also saw the participation of Muslim staff of the Authority.

Addressing the congregation, Rev. Arthur expressed profound appreciation to the Muslim Ummah for their warm reception, prayers and continuous support to the Authority over the years.

“We are very grateful to be here today,” he said. On behalf of the Board, Management and the entire staff of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, Rev. Arthur said: “We are blessed and deeply appreciative of the respect and support shown to us by the Muslim fraternity.”

He noted that the thanksgiving service formed part of the Authority’s reflections on four decades of dedicated service to Ghana’s aviation industry.

“Over the past 40 years, GCAA has stood for excellence, professionalism and committed service to the good people of Ghana. In these times especially, it is important to pause and thank Allah for how far He has brought us,” Rev. Arthur stated.

The Director-General also used the occasion to seek prayers and support for the Authority as it works towards advancing Ghana’s aviation sector under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.

He emphasised the government’s vision of positioning Ghana as a leading aviation hub on the continent through improvements in air transport infrastructure, passenger experience, tourism and trade facilitation.

“We want the world and Africa to recognise that under President John Mahama, Ghana’s aviation sector is reaching higher heights. We are witnessing developments not only in Accra but across the country, and aviation continues to support trade, tourism and national development,” he added.

Leading the congregation in prayer, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu thanked Allah for the successes chalked by the GCAA over the years and prayed for continued wisdom, growth and greater achievements for the Authority in the years ahead.
