MR. THEOPHILUS ADONIS ARYEE AGO APPOINTED AG. DEPUTY DIRECTOR-GENERAL (TECHNICAL) OF GCAA
President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Mr. Theophilus Adonis Aryee Ago as the Acting Deputy Director-General (Technical) of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). Mr. Ago brings to the role nearly three decades of dedicated service within the Authority. He is a highly experienced Air Traffic Controller with over 20 years of comprehensive expertise in Air Traffic Management (ATM). He also served for seven years as a regulator with the Safety Regulation Department. Mr. Ago’s areas of technical expertise include Air Traffic Management (ATM), Procedures for Air Navigation Services — Aircraft Operations (PANS-OPS), and the operational oversight of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
Over the years, Mr. Ago has consistently demonstrated the ability to manage and coordinate complex air traffic operations with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.
Mr. Ago is also a certified microlight pilot, which further enriches his understanding of diverse aviation operations. He is known for being a proactive team player, fostering collaboration among peers, and promoting a strong culture of safety across the aviation sector. He remains committed to continuous professional development and upholding the highest standards in aviation safety.
Education:
Mr. Ago is a PhD. candidate in Business Administration (Strategic Management) at the Philippines Christian University. He also holds a BSc in Actuarial Science and an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. Mr Ago’s new appointment is a recognition of his loyalty and exceptional long service of 27 years to the GCAA and Ghana in general.
