ITALY’S FLAGSHIP CARRIER COMMENCES ROME-ACCRA FLIGHT IN JUNE 2024
The national airline of Italy, ITA Airways, is gearing up to launch direct flights from Rome to Accra starting June 6, 2024.
This new development in the Ghanaian aviation space was officially confirmed by H.E. Daniela d’Orlandi, the Ambassador of Italy to Ghana and Togo, during a courtesy visit to Ing. Charles Ebo Kraikue, the Director General of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, at the GCAA’s offices located at the Kotoka International Airport.
Commencing on June 6, 2024, the airline is scheduled to operate three weekly flights connecting Rome and Accra until June 30, 2024. Subsequently, the frequency of flights on this route will be enhanced to four per week between July 1, 2024, and October 25, 2024.
Upon the commencement of these flights, ITA Airways will proudly stand as the exclusive airline offering direct connectivity between Rome and Accra, significantly enhancing travel options for passengers.
ITA Airways boasts a robust network, covering more than 70 scheduled destinations encompassing domestic, European, and intercontinental routes since its inception in 2020. This strategic expansion to include the Rome-Accra route underscores the airline’s commitment to providing enhanced connectivity and fostering international travel within the sub-region.
