The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) emerged victorious in the maiden edition of the University of Ghana Corporate Football League after a dramatic 4–2 win on penalties over Union Ghana at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Friday, 25 July 2025.
In a fiercely contested final, GCAA broke the deadlock midway through the second half with a well-taken goal, only for Union Ghana to restore parity shortly before full-time, sending the encounter into a tense penalty shootout.
Goalkeeper Tsawodzi Ruben proved the hero of the hour for GCAA, producing two crucial saves during the shootout to swing the momentum in his side’s favour.
GCAA kept their nerve from the spot, converting four attempts to seal a deserved 4–2 victory and claim the historic inaugural title.
GCAA’s Prince Aboagye was named the Most Valuable Player of the final, following an outstanding individual performance that underscored his influence on the team’s title-winning campaign.
The University of Ghana Corporate Football League, launched earlier this year, brought together corporate teams in a spirited celebration of teamwork, sportsmanship, and competitive football.
The management of GCAA uses this opportunity to congratulate the football team and the entire technical team on their grand performance.
