Kenya Airways Introduces New Country Manager To GCAA<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

The outgoing Country Manager for Kenya Airways in Ghana, Mrs Ruth Maweu, has introduced her successor, Mr Peter Musola, to the Acting Director-General of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), Rev Stephen Wilfred Arthur.<\/p>\n

The formal introduction took place on Wednesday, 17 September 2025, during a working visit to the GCAA headquarters at Kotoka International Airport in Accra.<\/p>\n

Welcoming the delegation, Rev Arthur commended Ms Maweu for cultivating what he described as a \u201cvery healthy relationship\u201d with the Authority. He expressed optimism that her successor would build on that foundation and strengthen cooperation further.<\/p>\n

Rev. Arthur used the opportunity to reiterate President John Dramani Mahama\u2019s vision to position Ghana as the aviation hub of Africa, stressing that the plan was not mere rhetoric.<\/p>\n

He highlighted significant investments in aviation infrastructure, including a new Air Navigation Services complex, the construction of a modern control tower, and runway upgrades at the country\u2019s major aerodromes.<\/p>\n

He emphasised that Ghana\u2019s aviation sector remains open and liberalised, with no protectionist barriers against industry players. \u201cWe believe in a fair market system where the forces of demand and supply prevail,\u201d he said, urging Kenya Airways to consider expanding its operations in Ghana with additional frequencies, upgraded equipment, and wider regional reach.<\/p>\n

Rev. Arthur also assured the airline that plans by the government of Ghana to establish a national carrier would not undermine existing operators, but rather introduce \u201cpositive competition\u201d into the market.<\/p>\n

He welcomed Kenya Airways\u2019 ambition to use Ghana as a hub for its regional expansion.<\/p>\n

For his part, Mr Musola reaffirmed the airline\u2019s commitment to connecting people, cultures and markets across Africa. He described Ghana as a \u201cpivotal destination\u201d in Kenya Airways\u2019 revenue portfolio and pledged close collaboration with the GCAA and other stakeholders to improve intra-African connectivity.<\/p>\n

He also welcomed Rev Arthur\u2019s proposal for Kenya Airways to offer concessions to GCAA staff for exchange programmes, aimed at equipping young aviation professionals with practical industry skills.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
