Powis Deakens Spencer , was sworn into office by the Deputy Minister of Transport , Hassan Tampuli on behalf of the Minister of Transport , Mr. Kwaku Ofori Asiamah.<\/p>\n<p>Other members of the board include; Ing. Charles Kraikue, Mr. Kwasi Owusu-Ansah, Madam Joyce Opoku Boateng, and Hon. Alfred Obeng-Boateng.The rest are Mr. Ofori Kofi Newman, Madam Cecilia Kwofie, Madam Mabel Asi Sagoe and Air Cdre Jacob Anum Ashrifie.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Kwaku Ofori Asiamah charged the board members to be committed in ensuring that the GCAA continue to provide a safe and secure aviation industry in the Country.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018\u2019As a board, I charge you to be committed to promote to the greatest extent possible, a harmonized and inclusive approach to facilitate safe domestic and international air travels. This will enable us to work towards strengthening the confidence of the travelling public and safely rebuilding the Civil Aviation\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister further indicated that the aviation Sector had been profoundly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has greatly impacted negatively on the financial fortunes of the GCAA and urged the board to come up with innovative ideas to improve the situation.<\/p>\n<p>On behalf of the Board, Captain Spencer expressed the board\u2019s gratitude\u00a0to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the confidence reposed in them, assuring the Minister that the board will work towards strengthening the policy direction of the Authority in ensuring that government\u2019s agenda of making Ghana an aviation hub was achieved.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Resources for Editors<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>About GCAA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Established in 1986, GCAA is the regulatory agency for air transport in Ghana.
