What You Will Learn
Upon completing this course, you will have the skills to;
- To supervise and control of aircraft.
- Ensure and plan for the loading of aircraft and also do the weight balance
calculations of the aircraft. - Assist in planning flight paths, taking into accounts aircraft performance and
loading, enroute winds, thunderstorms and turbulence forecasts and airport
conditions. - Provides advise to pilots if conditions changes.
- Examine the mechanical reports to make certain that the required
maintenance has been completed. - Ensuring and monitoring aircraft arrivals and departures and amending
turnaround schedules if there are delays. - The flight preparation considers aircraft limitations and status by consulting
the Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and Configuration Deviation List (CDL) as
well as the analysis of the departure, destination and alternate airports
weather condition to ensure that they are above the required minima for the
approach category at a particular airport and aircraft capability. - Coordinate and ensure that all ground handling, fuel, landing/departure slots
and international handling, customs, landing/over-flight permits are in order
before releasing a flight. - Provide operational data and reports to personnel as necessary.
- Collect, discuss and review weather and aeronautical information to help
assist in aircraft/pilot dispatch.
