GATA was established in 2008 under Ghana Civil Aviation Sector upgrade project (GCASUP) situated at the location of the old school of Air Traffic Control which had been in existence since the late 50s with the mandate of training Air Traffic control Assistants for then department of Civil Aviation under the Public Works Department (PWD).
GATA now has modern facilities and a state of the art simulator to train Air Traffic Control Professionals for Ghana and the Sub-region.
