SUMMARY: Pursuant to the powers conferred on the Director- General by Section 9(2) and Section 21 of the Ghana Civil Aviation Act, 2006 (as amended) the Director-General is authorized to issued directives for the safety of the aviation industry, and Directives to domesticate the Standards and Recommended Practices of the International Civil Aviation Organisation.


The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, in accordance with its mandate to ensure efficient and effective safety oversight of the aviation industry, proposes to amend and consolidate the existing Ghana Civil Aviation Regulations (L.I. 2000 - L.I. 2004). The amendments captured in the following Schedules, shall augment existing provisions in the various Legislative Instruments and shall be issued as a consolidated text in November 2018.


These proposed Technical, Safety and Security Directives, outlines various amendments to the Standards and Recommended Practices of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, as adopted by Ghana, and also incorporate industry best practices, adopted to be part of the aviation legislation.


ACTION REQUIRED: All aviation stakeholders are required to review these proposed Directives and submit comments or questions to the Authority. There will be a Stakeholders workshop to discuss the proposed rule-making and address all comments.
